ReplyDeleteScience and the Environment is an enormous topic in the world. Science includes many things such as plants, oils, animals, etc. The one that I am going to talk about today is oil. There are different types of oils. There is cooking oil that comes from food, and plants such as corn oil, vegetable oil, and olive oil. And the other type of oil that is underground is called petroleum oil.
There has been so many oil spills in the world. One oil spill happened in Alaska in 1989, another happened in Australia in 2009, and the most recent one today is the one that is happening in the Gulf of Mexico, year 2010. Oil spills are extremely dangerous. Oil spills harms alive animals. The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has killed several animals. It also kilts eleven (11) people. And one thing that they can do to prevent oil spills in the future is to make a boundary line where the oil is underground. They can also check up on it once every 2 weeks or something.
Next is what do we use oil for? We use oil for many reasons. Two quick reasons are for gas and oil changes for the car. One thing that people can do to help save oil is fill up your gas tank to F. Then don’t drive that much with the car. You can also stop world pollution.
Last but not least is why do we need to prevent oil spills from happening? We need to prevent oils spills because they cause much harm. And many animals die from oil spills. And many animals die then more animals will die, because they don’t have any food. Then once the animals die we wouldn’t have chicken, or goat, or cow, or those types of animals to eat. Then we would be hungry.
That is why Science and the Environment is an important topic. And you should always watch the news, or listen to the radio to see or hear about the world. And check if there are any oil spills around the world. Oil spills is a very serious thing. And if you are near one get medical help ASAP!!!
I think that I would think of a way to prevent oil spills would be that the other robot that they could make to make a tube that can suck up all the bad oil that is being brought into the robot and they can keep on making them in till all of the oil would all be gone and then they could stop the oil from spilling out and then they can move the ship because it has no more oil in the water and it would be all better and then that how they would prevent it.
ReplyDeleteI will say that you could use natural resources that we use at home or outside you could use other oils that wont contaminate the water and hurt the animals living inside and also I will say that you can do other thing that could be a natural resource and save the birds that are dieing of huger because all of the animals are dieing and also you could see that the water could be a other resource because you can make a engine and the water could go using water that could be better.
The thing that we could prevent oil spills from happening again would be to carry oil in this special orb that could not brake so you could put all the oil inside and then when you could have a boat and if the oil falls in the ocean it cant brake under water and it could also withstand a lot of pressure put on in so it could sink no problem so they could make it go up because bubbles rise so it might rise up or it could stay sunk but it wont pop at all underwater

1. I think that the scientist are trying there best to stop the oil to spared every were around the ocean. I think that the scientist need to find more things to prevent the oils from spilling every I think that one of the things that could prevent the oil from spilling is if they get a boat with a big fan under it that they go around and they fan the oil out and they could get a big top and but it on top of the big tub that spilling the oil out and get it and cover it than get the tub and bring it up and get it out the ocean and get the tub and empty the tub out and clean out the ocean and use the soap and clean out the poor cute :} animals that is covered with oil and clean them up so they wouldn’t die.
2. I think that we use oil for a lot of thing we use oil for our cars, trains, bus, airplanes, and our bikes I know that we need oil to use those stuff because oil is really important to use on your car because if you don’t but gas on your car your car will not go it will just stop and gas comes from oil and that happens to all the stuff that we use or drive or make if you don’t have oil on it, it will not work. I think that we could help a lot by saving the planet I think that this could help not to need that much oil in the future because by helping the planet now we could save plants, oil, gas and trees, by helping the planet it will help us because by getting a friend and going to school on the same car you are using less gas that is why it think by saving the planet could help all of us in the future and I think if we all go on saving the planet.com you could see how we could use less gas less oil and help all the animals that right now covered with oil and dieing.

I think that we need to prevent the oil from spilling because in the future we don’t want any thing to happened to the others so I think by us helping now we could help the earth and we could help the people that is dieing know and all the animals that are dieing. I think that the problem with the oil spilling is that they can not find a was to stop the oil from spilling and they are trying to find a way that they could stop the oil from spilling and to take the big tub out of the ocean so I think that is a big problem for them and also the oil is spilling from the under ground of the ocean and it keeps coming up and now if you go to that ocean you will be able to see how the wave threw some of the oil in the sand so if you touch it I turns in to oil and I think that is also a big problem. I think that the last big problem that they have that I think is that the ocean water could spread around and the oil could go 50 miles from were it is at now so I think that is another big problem. What I suggest the scientist do to prevent oil spills from happening in the future is to double the pipes. If we double the pipes that means once the inside pipe cracks the water that comes out will flow into the second pipe but incase that does happen we could already have solutions be fore the second pipes burst which most likely won’t be for a while. We’ll replace the material with some junkyard of scrap metal. We can have volunteers who are willing to help clean the metal for new scraps to sell. If the second pipe does break we could send a machine that sucks in water and shoots it out of a small whole that will push the oil into the tube that leads to land.

What we can do to prevent people from using so much oil in the future is, by making milk made vehicles. If we can make milk made vehicles we would have to protect cows and any other animals that can be milked.

Today, we are still facing problems with the oil leak that happened in the Gulf of Mexico. People in the Internet are asking, “How will we use our cars?” There is one vehicle that runs on electricity and that is the Hybrid. Plug in Hybrid cars cost about the same amount as the original Hybrid. Scientist recommend that the Hybrid is the first environmental car ever made. Lawnmowers have motors that also run on oil so why can’t we build a solar powered lawnmower. If there’s no oil, we still got electricity on our side.

Animals die out of starvation because; the oil in the water poisons the fish so the animals have nothing eat. Oil is the resource we need to run our cars every day so if all the oil is gone, our only transportation will be walking. Military tanks run on oil if there’s no oil, then no support to help in wars. Anything that runs on oil will be no longer used in the world again.
I suggest that they use electricity instead of oil. Oil is bad for our health because, people think that oil is the cause of mesothelioma, a deadly form of cancer. Oil is the reason why we are losing fish and other animals every day. Electricity doesn’t harm any body so we should stop using oil and start using a resource that is environmentally friendly. That’s how I would prevent oil spills.

ReplyDeleteI think they should find a way for most of the things that use oil for thing that could be useful to our environment. So it wouldn’t hurt the earth as bad. I say this because, and then we wouldn’t have to dig for oil as such. All we would have to do is get the oil if only we needed. Like for bike changs or to stop a squeaking door something like that. They could also do is have the oil pipes run to a big huge place where the oil is dumped into. Then we could still use our oil but we wouldn’t have to worry about oil spills in the ocean and animals dieing.
What we use oil for is for cars, bikes, doors, nails, screws, and for things that squeak or are stuff that are tuff. Also for heaters. One way we use less oil is try to make a car that runs on air. I mean like it takes in the air a blows out clean oxygen. Also we could switch our heat from oil to gas or electric. We could also make cars that run on battery. Then when the batteries died use solar power to recharge them. Then we would use a lot less oil.
We need to prevent oil from spills in the future because, if we keep having oil spills then we would have an ocean to swim in. Or fresh water to drink. We could also have the oil on land. What happens to the environment is it will be destroyed and we would be like a desert. But with no sand just oil everywhere. Then we wouldn’t have food or anything to survive. Then we will die also. ReplyDeleteHave a sponge type big sheet and all ways put in the pecan when ever is an oil spill. We use oil for cars for tune up or others. The people in milt or scientist can try to figure out a way of needing oil for car and gas like they could make a car that only needs water in stead of oil. We need to prevent this because it could hurt sea animals and birds like brown pelicans, and it would destroy are water environment. That’s why living organism will die if accidents like this could happen. People that work in the oilrig should take notice of this problem like this like in the past this happens rarely.

ReplyDeleteThree topics that I think are important to us is one our periods, puberty, and lastly obesity. One of the reasons why I think that our periods is important is because it helps us to learn about our body and more to know about what to do when you have this. I think that your period is important because you get to know what happens when you get this and that nothing Is wrong its just your menstruation happening. Then lastly I think that obesity is important because you learn about how to keep your body healthy and not to get overweight.
Puberty:
I think puberty would be important to others because puberty helps you to learn about your body and the changes that go on as you get older. Then also because it get you to know about the changes that go on in your body more. Something’s to know about puberty is that how it happens is that hormones are released from the pituitary glands that make this process start to happen. And that when you have this is what brings you into becoming an adult. Then lastly when you have puberty in girls it starts from 10 to 11 when you have puberty and for boys it is 12 and 13.
Periods:
Okay how can I start, I think that your period is important because especially for girls and not boys (they Don’t Have It). Is because when you have your period you would want to know why this strange thing is happening to you, you might even be like “ am I dying what ‘s wrong” thankfully your not but anyway its is good to know what things and changes are going on. Things to know about your period is that not everybody’s is the same so if your friends is different than your don’t worry. It may even take a couple of years to even out. And also there are different types of hormones and the hormones that cause your period are not the same. Then lastly you get your period from ages 9 to 19.
Obesity:
I think that obesity is important because I think that people should know that obesity is really high populating in the U.S.A and that’s becoming to be a problem lots of people die each year from this. And that obesity is a really important matter and its not good. You should care about this because then you would know that it is important to avoid any possible things like this to happen. Then some thing to know about obesity is that when a person builds up a dangerous amount of body fat. And that B.M.I means (body mass index). Lastly that when you people get this fat or in other more sophisticated way (obesity or are obese overweight) you can be putting your life in serious danger so be aware about what you eat and stay healthy!!
Conclusion:
I think all these things are a really important topics. Like obesity its about being overweight and that’s really good so stay good and healthy. Then there’s puberty and how your body changes. And then there is the period make sure you keep care of your body.
1) I think that scientists should create sort of glass/plastic walls around oilrigs so that if oil does escape it doesn’t spread into the ocean. Though the walls couldn’t be that big because it might confuse animals. However, the oil rigs themselves probably confuse animals that try to swim near them, so maybe my solution would work also the prevent animals from coming near the oil rigs. I also think that maybe they should make thicker pipes so that they break less easily. Also, I believe that maybe they should stop getting oil from the oceans when the consequences can be so deadly.
ReplyDelete2) We use oil mainly for fueling vehicles. I think that a good way to cut back on oil would be to use public transportation instead. Not only would that help us use less oil, but it would also help our economy a little. Since more people will use buses and trains, there will be a demand for bus drivers and security guards since more people in small areas would cause people to be more irritable, since people are naturally impatient. But, that’s only step one. After a year or so, the government should start doing ads on television to convince people that it’s better to walk than it is to use any transportation. This would reduce the oil usage drastically and make people healthier.
3) We need to prevent oil spills in the future because oil spills endanger thousands of animals and only help make our economy worse. The oils spills kills’ plants and animals alike, it blocks out sun light and coats the gills of fish, suffocating them. But, that is not the only way that it kills animals. While some animals maybe able to escape to oil, their prey may not, and once their prey die out so will they. These are all very negative affects, these animals are suffering and dying because humans are being careless.

What I suggest scientist to do is to prevent oil spills from happening in the future is that I if there is a boat with oil I think that he person who is in charge of the boat should be really careful with in witch way they are going because you don’t want to hit rock or anything and also if they want to send oil from boat to anther place I think that they should be careful with the weather because you can have an accident. A I think that they should make more than one pipe because in that way if one brakes there would be anther pipe to replace it. I also would say that if something like this were to happened again than they should have a plan b or to prepare themselves so that they would know what they are going to deal with.

I suggest to the scientist that they check the pipes once a week or everyday to see if they burst or have a hole. It would be better because an accident wouldn’t happen if they did a check u before they leave to go home. It would help make their job a little easier.

ANSWER ONE.) I think the scientist should have use stop using oil for our car. This will make us stop using so much oil for now. Scientist should also try to find other alternatives for our oil needs. For example instead of using gas to fuel our cars we could us corn or vegetable oil.

1. Scientist already tried lots of things to do that would stop the le leak in this pipe. But none of them still did not work. I think that my solution would probably work but only for a certain amount of time. My Idea would last probably a couple 10 years or so. It was to put on layers and layers of metal on to the pipe. Maybe that would stop the leak to stop letting oil out of it.
ReplyDelete2. In the world there are 9 or more different types of oil. Examples are car oil, vegetable oil, baby oil, corn oil and more. Some oils are used for cooking, like vegetable oil. Also for cars, car oil to make it run. Sometimes you use oil if you are dry. This is called baby oil. There are more than that, but the one that leaked all over the ocean was the car oil. DANGEROUS!!!!!
3. In the future we want to prevent this from happing because then we don’t have any fish, we wont be able to swim and it would just be to dangerous. Also it would be harsh to see all those animals die like that. That’s why we need to prevent this from happing again. Plus we want to keep are environment nice and clean where we can have a good time.
First I would suggest to the BP that they need scientist to work now on in invention that will last for a lot of time. They should make something now that will last for years to come. Also I recommend to scientist that when they solve the problem of the oil spill. To take time to make another that can never fail. And to put their brains to it so it can be something that is worth giving up time to.

What we could do is make schools to invent machines and parts to put in cars. And also to use more hybrid modes of transportation so there’s no more much need for oil. ReplyDeleteI think that the scientist should make the oil pipes much more protective and stronger because if its not suitable that’s how the pipes exploded. They should have been more coushes. They should have thought about digging that much farther was going to cost them. They should have known that if they digged more deeper then the oil will come more faster. They also should have thought if the oil came more faster then the oil tanks will not be able to hold so much oil.
We use oil for our cars, bikes, doors, and homes. Also other things that need to be refilled. Some people like to put it on things that make noise. I also put oil on my hamsters running wheel because it kept squeeking at night so I put the oil in its wheel. Theres so much more things you can put oil in.
Yes people can do something to prevent us from using so much oil is that people need to use things more wisely and when they fill up your oil tank they don’t need to put a lot. The problems with oil spills are that when the oil blew up many people died. Also when the boat crashed, and sunk slowly the oil got in the water and killed almost all our environmental animals. Some catch fish and sell them to make a living and now sins the fish in Alaska has died how will they catch fish and how will they get paid. That’s what the gas leak did to the environment.
First of all I believe that they should not be able to travel with oil anywhere. Instead they should create an underground pipe that leads to places that will need the oil for a certain purpose. That is one solution to prevent this problem. Another way is to find out how to use something like: AIR, WATER, OR PLANTLIFE instead of oil so it can’t do that much damage.

We need to prevent oil spills in the future to keep the earth healthy. We also need to prevent them so the animals on water and land can be safe and healthy. Also keep our own community healthy as well. The problem with oil spills is that it kills our environment and the earth.
The suggestions I have for the scientist, are to cover the leaking pipe. And they should first move all the animals out of the water. Because if they don’t all of the animals will end up dieing. Or even cover that part of the ocean, with a dome, so that all the oil doesn’t go any where else. Also, they need to bring fresh water back to the ocean, so that all the animals could go back to their natural life.

Most people use to much oil in their house, so they should stop because it costs a lot of money. Maybe we should just use 15 to 30 minutes of oil. So lets all calm down on the oil and gas, we use.
We need to pervert oil rigs and spills because they hurt the environment. It also kills helpless animals. We can’t stop it and it kills all the plants in the sea. What I would want the scientist to do to prevent the oil spills from happening in the future is to probably find a different approach for ‘gas’. What I mean is that instead of using petroleum we should use something that is probably eco friendly. For example, we cold use solar power for day and also night. Also food, something around veggie oils. Something that wont harm our environments.

We should use water from the oceans the salt would heat up the car. The car could be electrical but scientist should find a way so the water and the electricity don’t mix. 3) We need to prevent oil spills from happening in the future because than we wouldn’t have oil use from our things. If oil spills keep on animals, plants and many other things can be killed and we don’t want that to happened because we humans need animals to eat and also we need plants. Also if there are more oil spills that would take sometime because to fix it there would be a lot of money going in .If oil spills keeps on happening then the ocean would take days or even moths to fix and we wouldn’t have an ocean to go to or swim.
The suggestions I have for the scientist, are to cover the leaking pipe. And they should first move all the animals out of the water. Because if they don’t all of the animals will end up dieing. Or even cover that part of the ocean, with a dome, so that all the oil doesn’t go any where else. Also, they need to bring fresh water back to the ocean, so that all the animals could go back to their natural life.
ReplyDeleteWe use oil for our cars and to heat our house. We could use less fuel. Or let our cars run off of vegetable oil. And we should all heat our houses with plug in heater. Most people use to much oil in their house, so they should stop because it costs a lot of money. Maybe we should just use 15 to 30 minutes of oil. So lets all calm down on the oil and gas, we use.
We need to pervert oil rigs and spills because they hurt the environment. It also kills helpless animals. We can’t stop it and it kills all the plants in the sea. Then it kills all the fish and other animals that animals depend on in the sea. Save the sea. Pervert the oil from spilling again.
I suggest that scientists prevent oilrig from working. If oilrigs stopped working we wouldn’t have oil spills in the future. Lately April’s oil spill has been killing animals and has completely covered animals. April’s oil spill happened because of an oilrig that exploded. They might also need to check pipes every once in a while. Pipes leading to many homes could have leak that could explode something and many people could die. It would be very safe if we didn’t have any oil spills.
ReplyDeleteWe use oil to get gas, to refill our cars, and to heat up our homes. That is too much oil all together. To prevent us from using less oil people should ride bikes instead of using a car. We could also use solar panels on cars so we could use sun energy instead of oil. Heating up our homes is for our sake but I think we might be able to make something that let us heat our homes so oil won’t be a problem. Not using oil will make oil spills less of a problem.
We need to prevent oil spills from happening so we don’t kill animals. Oil slick is headed to a wildlife nature preserve and can kill endangered species. The problem is we are losing endangered species and other animals. The food chain is getting messed up and those animals are dying. I don’t like it so I wouldn’t like to see any more oil spills happening. It isn’t cool to see dead animals. It is really sad to see something die and it makes me think what can I do to stop it.
1. I would suggest that scientist use a different substance instead of gas. They should use something else to replace oil and gas. Gas is a dangerous substance that can ruin our environment. Maybe they could use water as a replacement because it does not harm people or animals. The gas can kill humans, animals and it can pollute the environment. The safe the substance the better our eco system.
ReplyDelete2. We use oil and gas for cars, food, hair products, and petroleum. People could use less gas/oil made products so that the companies can stop making it. We could find other sources like water. The scientist should develop a type of car that can run on water instead of gas. That way when people drive it the gas won’t enter into our air and pollute it.
3. The world needs to prevent the oil spills to happen in the future because it can effect our environment. The oil kills animals and it can get on our food and poison it. Animals can die and some of them might become an endangered species. Some of the animals could even become extinct. We have to be care of our action so that the oil spills never happen again.
To prevent oil spills in the future I think scientist should make the tanks that carry the oil stronger. If the tanks were stronger than there wouldn’t than oil spills will be something that we think of as almost impossible. They should also make areas were oil is held so boats or anything that can crash into the oil tank are not allowed near it. But that just sounds like common sense.
ReplyDeleteOil has a lot of uses but the most popular one that I’ve heard is to heat houses. People are always talking about how expensive it is too. I think we can try to find a better way to heat houses. I don’t exactly know how but I know it is not impossible. I think solar power would be a better alternative to oil.
We need to prevent oil spills in the future because they have very negative effect on the environment. The oil that leaks into the water makes it impossible for fish to swim and for animals to find something to eat that isn’t piosened
I think that they should move the rigs to an isolated area so even if it leaks they wont have to worry about getting oil in the ocean. This will help by the fact that the rig will be isolated from everything and everyone. Even if some oil starts to leak, it wouldn’t hurt anyone. Oil is used to make heat, it’s used for transportation, its used to make fire, and oil is also used for food but that’s a different kind of oil.

I think scientist should build bulletproof pipes to stop oil spills. And I also think the scientist should try to lower the water pressure. And I also think scientist should stop putting the pipes so deep under water. I also think they should stop putting them where animal/people live. They also stop putting them where we get our food. We use oil for our cars. We also use oil to work machines. To prevent oil spills in the future I think we should make more fuel-efficient cars. I think we should also make cars run on solar power. And they could also make cars run on water. And we should make cars run on vegetable oil. We need to prevent oil spills from happening because we end up killing animals. And we can also hurt endangered species. And it will kill all the fish in the water and there will be no more fish to eat. And oil spills can mess up the enviorment by killing the food cycle. And it can kill whales.
ReplyDeleteHave you heard of the oil spill in the Golf of Mexico? Have you heard of people digging for oil? Well in one of the oceans of Mexico a big tank of oil exploded under water. Scientist are trying to figure out what can they do to prevent oil spills from happening in the future, what can people do to prevent us from using so much oil in the future, and what can we do for no oil spills to happen ever again in the future?
ReplyDeleteI suggest scientist can use a heavier material to prevent oil spills. If that doesn’t work they can make a huge dome on land so it can be easier to fix the oil spill quick and so that animals and people don’t get as effected with the oil spill. It will be a better way of preventing oil spills because people can actually get close to the tank of oil and fix by getting in a heavy suit.
We use oil for many objects. We use it for things like our car, and to heat our houses up. People can try to figure out other thing to do what oil can do like, milk or water. We can also try to find away to not use oil at all. We can do that by using other things that is similar to oil.
We probably can dig for oil on land instead of under water so if anything happens to it people can fix quicker without any problem. We can put a huge dome over it and if anything happens people can go in the dome and fix the problem. People will go in and come out safely by going in with big heavy suits to protect them from the oil. The problem with the oil spill is that many under ground animals are ding because of the oil it’s effecting many animals and people because the animals are dying and the people are loosing food to eat
